About me

I have been painting for nearly 30 years, and became fully devoted to watercolor when living in England in the early 90s, where I studied under Alan Roe. In recent years, I have focused on contemporary and abstract paintings utilizing today’s wide variety of new materials and techniques.

I am an active member of the Brevard Watercolor Society, and teach watercolor classes and conduct workshops on a regular basis. I love getting my students started on the road to creating fine works of art and keeping them motivated. In the process, I learn new techniques and contemporary styles. CONTEMPORARY & ABSTRACT PAINTING CLASSES

Beginner Watercolor Classes

Classes will cover the basics of watercolor and materials. It is designed for people who are new to watercolor or want a refresher. Very small classes, 4-5 maximum. Covid guidelines will be followed.

"Quick Draw” Workshop

Want to learn how to draw? This two-hour workshop will get you drawing basic shapes and introduce you to the world of 3-dimensions using perspective techniques… a great way to learn using simple step-by-step techniques and common examples. Very small group. It will be followed by six weekly sessions in the beginner drawing classes described below. NOTE: For adults or for children 12 and older if accompanied by an adult.

Basic Drawing & Perspective Techniques

No talent needed! In this six-week course, you will learn how to draw the basic shapes and use them to create complex objects, draw shadows and reflections and learn how to scale and measure. We will also cover the basic techniques of perspective drawing that will make your subjects look three-dimensional. We will use these techniques to draw all matter of things including the interior and exterior of buildings, bridges, roads and streams, pottery, boats, wine bottles… Small classes. Covid guidelines will be followed.
